Close collaboration between Akrapovic's Racing R&D and R&D departments has resulted in an exhaust nearly identical in specification to the one the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP Team will race in the 2023 Motocross World Championship season. The custom design fits the limited space on the bike and is as large as it can accommodate. This increases soundproofing to mitigate the impact on the natural environment, while also facilitating the flow of exhaust gases from the combustion chamber with the least possible restrictions.

Constructed entirely from lightweight, high-quality titanium alloys, this system offers a weight saving of 20.4% (0.9 kg) compared to the standard exhaust. The different section thicknesses ensure perfect protection and reduce the overall weight, allowing the increased strength created by the design to provide greater resistance under the most demanding conditions. It offers greater response across the rev range, with an increase in power and torque levels of 1.8 kW (2.4 hp) at 10,600 rpm on the in-house test bench and 1.5 Nm at 10,500 rpm in back-to-back tests compared to a standard exhaust system.

A new profiled surface, which influences the deep, full sound, and an integrated resonance chamber to optimize performance and match the sound of an Akrapovic exhaust, have been designed to ensure this system meets FIM racing noise limits. A special technique was used to imprint the logo on the surface: not a sticker or engraving, but a new way of adding the logo. Developed exclusively for use on closed race circuits, installation is simple and requires no remapping.
